Local News in Brief : Fullerton : Talk to Focus on Role of Televangelists in Vote
Dr. Benjamin J. Hubbard, chairman of the religious studies department at Cal State Fullerton, will open the university’s Continuing Learning Experience’s Distinguished Lecture Series on Thursday with a discussion of “Television Evangelism.”
The lecture will be at the University Center Theater at 1 p.m. Hubbard’s talk, focusing on the current health of TV ministries and the impact of religious broadcasters on the November election, is the first three lectures underwritten by the Majorie Mosher Schmidt Foundation, all free and open to the public.
Future lectures include “Communications Is Humane,” by Dr. Joyce M. Flocken on Oct. 6, and “Politics in Iran: From a Secular to a Religious Government,” by Dr. Mohsen Mirshafiei, Nov. 3.
