Concerts at Ford Theatre Rescheduled

Due to conflicts with the nearby Hollywood Bowl, several concerts scheduled to be held at the John Anson Ford Theatre have been moved in date or location.

A show featuring John Prine and Nanci Griffith scheduled for Friday will now be held Sunday, while a concert by the Red Hot Chili Peppers has been moved from Sept. 17 to Oct. 8. A Sept. 23 concert by Redd Kross will now be held at the Variety Arts Center. No decision has been made yet concerning a Sept. 16 appearance by the Stray Cats, though the band’s Sept. 18 appearance will go on at the Ford as planned.

The changes stem from complaints by Bowl patrons about noise from the outdoor Ford rock concerts interfering with the Bowl presentations, according to Rick Van Santen, a spokesman for concert promoter Goldenvoice. In October, after the Bowl season is finished, Goldenvoice hopes to hold at least 10 concerts at the Ford Theatre, he said.
