Ken Green, going for his second tournament victory in as many weeks, shot a course-record, 11-under-par 61 Saturday to take a two-stroke lead into the final round of the $700,000 Greater Milwaukee Open golf tournament.

Green eagled two par-5s and had eight birdies and one bogey on the 7,030-yard Tuckaway Country Club course for a 200 total, 16 under par. His round broke the course record of 62, shared by Tommy Nakajima and Jim Thorpe, and was also the lowest on the PGA Tour this year.

Dave Barr, a co-leader after the first and second rounds, shot 68 for a 202. Five shots back were Donnie Hammond (68) and Billy Andrade (67).

Tied for the lead with Dave Hill going to the par-5 17th hole, Gary Player knew he would have to make something happen if he were going to win the innaugural GTE North Senior tournament at Indianapolis.

He did it with a 230-yard 1-iron shot that stopped 2 feet from the cup. His tap-in for an eagle 3 on the 482-yard hole gave him the advantage he needed to win the $52,500 first prize in the $350,000 tournament with a 6-under-par 66 and a 54-hole total of 201, 15 strokes under par.

Player: “I never want to forget that shot as long as I live.”

Hill, with a 65 in the final round, finished second at 203. Three players tied at 204--Orville Moody, Miller Barber and Dale Douglass.

Betsy King, winner of last week’s Rail tournament, took the second-round lead by one stroke in the $250,000 Cellular One-Ping tournament at Portland, Ore.

King, who started the day 1 under par, shot a 2-under-par 70 for a 36-hole total of 141 over the 6,285-yard Riverside Golf and Country Club course.

Stephanie Farwig (72), Sandra Haynie (71) and Penny Hammel (72) were tied for second at 142.
