Share

Autopsy results have provided authorities with a description of an unidentified man whose badly burned body was found at the site of a small brush fire in Seal Beach last Thursday, police said.

The victim is described as a man between 30 and 40 years old, about 5 feet, 8 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighing between 250 and 270 pounds, according to Seal Beach Police Detective Charlie Castagna. Two early-model cars were seen leaving the area at the time of the fire, but police have no suspects in the case, Castagna said.

The man, believed to have light brown hair, was wearing a lavender polka-dot shirt, suspenders, dark-colored dress slacks, maroon socks and dress shoes. He also was wearing a watch on his left wrist, Castagna said.

The autopsy also showed that the victim’s appendix and gallbladder had been removed, he said.

The body was found last Thursday night by firefighters after passing motorists reported the fire near the Garden Grove Freeway and Old Bolsa Chica Road.

Investigators have not determined if the man was killed before being burned, Castagna said.

Westminster police initially investigated when the body was discovered near the border of Westminster and Seal Beach. However, it was later determined that the body was in Seal Beach’s jurisdiction.
