Westchester : Meeting on Congestion

Share

Los Angeles Councilwoman Ruth Galanter has scheduled a public meeting at 7 p.m. next Thursday at her district office, 7166 Manchester Ave., to discuss toughening a city law intended to relieve traffic congestion on the Westside.

The 1985 law, called the Coastal Transportation Corridor Specific Plan, requires new developments to mitigate their traffic impact and establishes developer fees to pay for regional improvement projects.

Galanter said the fees are too low to provide the types of traffic improvements necessary.
