Anaheim Man Held as Suspect in Garden Grove Bank Robbery
Police on Friday arrested an Anaheim man who is suspected of robbing a Garden Grove bank the day before.
Robert Blend Rich, 32, is being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail after Anaheim and Garden Grove police arrested him in the area of La Palma Avenue and Brookhurst Street in Anaheim, Garden Grove Police Lt. Stu Finkelstein said.
Rich allegedly robbed the Security Pacific Bank in the 12400 block of Valley View Street in Garden Grove of about $1,800 Thursday afternoon, Finkelstein said. Witnesses got the license plate number of a car used by the escaping bank robber, and police traced the car to Rich, Finkelstein said. He was arrested Friday about 5:30 p.m.
Police searched Rich’s car and residence, and recovered what they believe is nearly all the money that was stolen, Finkelstein said.
