A poll conducted for MTV, the cable television entertainment firm, found that young voters are leaning toward Vice President George Bush.
The telephone survey of 800 registered voters between ages 18 and 34 found that 50% favored Bush, 40% supported Dukakis and 10% were undecided.
Broken down by music preference, the country and Western crowd prefers Bush by more than 2 to 1, while the rhythm-and-blues set likes Dukakis by more than 8 to 1.
The poll was taken Sept. 12-17 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
