On this final week of the baseball season, fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers are entertaining thoughts of a pennant.
But first the team must make its way into the National League playoffs, and as of press time, they were sitting atop the Western Division with a nine-game lead.
The Dodgers’ playoff opponent would be the New York Mets, who dominated them during the regular season.
Of immediate concern to Tommy Lasorda’s team is a game with the Giants in San Francisco, which KTTV will cover Sunday at 1 p.m.
Post-season action--for the teams that do make the playoffs--starts Oct. 4 on ABC.
And NBC, now busy with the Olympics in Seoul, will carry the World Series, beginning Oct. 15.
