Wide receiver Wes Chandler of the San Francisco 49ers, who caught 559 passes for 8,966 yards during his 11-year NFL career, announced his retirement. Chandler, 32, said he decided to retire because he was frustrated with his performance and was suffering from tendinitis in a knee.
