Sockers’ Training Camp Begins

After a tumultuous summer in which the Sockers and then the Major Indoor Soccer League nearly collapsed, the Sockers begin preparations for the defense of their sixth indoor championship today at the Folsom’s Racquet Club.

Sockers’ training camp will continue through the first week of November, leading up to their opener Nov. 4 against the Los Angeles Lazers at the San Diego Sports Arena.

The Sockers are scheduled to play five exhibition games this month. The first will be Friday in Cincinnati against the Baltimore Blast. The Sockers will meet the Lazers Oct. 17 and 18 at Folsom’s, and will play in Kansas City against the Comets Oct. 21. The Sockers also have an outdoor game scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 9, against San Diego State in Aztec Bowl.
