Beverly Hills : Resolution to Save Water
The City Council on Tuesday approved a resolution calling on residents to voluntarily reduce water consumption to help officials cope with this year’s drought.
The measure calls on residents to irrigate lawns and landscape before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. and to limit hosing of sidewalks and driveways. It also asks restaurants to serve water only on request.
Officials said the council may adopt a mandatory conservation program if the voluntary measures do not reduce water consumption by 10%.
