Sheriff’s deputies were searching Thursday for an inmate who escaped from the Theo Lacy branch jail in Orange about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday night.
Felipe Salazar Huerta, 25, was arrested Aug. 9, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said. Although Huerta had served his time for a narcotics charge, Olson said, court proceedings were still pending on a parole violation.
Olson said that it wasn’t clear how Huerta escaped and that an investigation is under way.
“He is not considered to be a danger,” Olson said.
