Swimmer Janet Evans, winner of three gold medals at the Seoul Olympics, will rack up a few more honors tonight at a hometown ceremony featuring a marching band, several presentations and videotaped highlights of her gold medal wins.
“Janet Evans Day” is free and open to the public. The event will begin at 7 p.m. at Bradford Stadium, 201 N. Bradford Ave. in Placentia.
The marching band and pep squad from El Dorado High School, which Janet attends, will perform, and school district and city officials will make presentations. Ed Arnold, sportscaster for KTLA Channel 5, will be master of ceremonies.
