6 Women Report Harassing Phone Calls

Police are seeking leads to a man who telephones women, identifies himself as a San Diego police officer and asks them personal questions.

Police spokesman Bill Robinson said that, within the past month, six San Diego women have called police complaining of harassing calls.

According to the victims, the man calls himself a policeman or an immigration officer and threatens to send police if the women do not release their home addresses.

“We don’t know if the man knows these people or not,” Robinson said, but, should he get their home addresses, the situation could become more dangerous.

He suggested that any woman receiving such a call notify the telephone report unit at 531-2990.
