Tyson Files His Own Suit in New Jersey Court
Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, accusing actress Robin Givens of faking a pregnancy to lure him into wedlock in a plot to gain control of his fortune, filed suit in Trenton, N.J., Friday seeking both a divorce and an annulment of their 8-month marriage.
The action, in New Jersey Superior Court, followed by a week Givens’ filing of a divorce suit in California.
The latest legal step put an apparent end to any efforts to patch up the troubled marriage between the 23-year-old television actress and the 22-year-old boxer.
Tyson and Givens were married in February and lived in an estate valued at $4.5 million in Bernardsville, N.J.
Givens’ attorney, Raoul Felder, denied the allegations. “It’s fantasyland,” he said. “It’s all untrue. It took him a whole week to make this up.”
