Six people have applied for the job of former El Segundo school board member Andrew Wallet, who resigned after eight months in office to move to the Palos Verdes Peninsula and to devote more time to his real estate career.

Candidates seeking the seat include Robert Boaz, Timothy Chang, Jim Krebs, Dennis Martin, Irwin Pigovat and Rich Reed. The six El Segundo residents will be interviewed by board members Tuesday at the district’s headquarters, 641 Sheldon St. The 6 p.m. meeting will be open to the public.

Board members will announce their decision Oct. 25.

An election for Wallet’s unexpired term will be held in November, 1989. Whoever wins will hold the seat until 1991, when Wallet’s term would have expired.
