Long Beach : School Board Retreat Set

Share

The public may join the Long Beach school board for a two-day retreat at a South Laguna hotel to discuss the board’s plans for the coming year.

The annual session is being held out of town for the first time in three years to “give a chance to have a longer discussion without the . . . interruption of phone calls and messages, the kind of thing you get when you are close to home,” said Dick Van der Laan, spokesman for the Long Beach Unified School District.

Costs of the trip are expected to be about $2,000, Van der Laan said.

The meeting will start at 9 a.m. Friday at the Aliso Creek Inn, 31106 S. Coast Highway in South Laguna. The sessions are expected to finish at about 2 p.m. Saturday.
