County Elections Promise More Than a Measure of Controversy : Yorba Linda Schools Annexation Issue
- Share via
I attended the debate that was held at the Yorba Linda Library recently discussing the proposed annexation of the Yorba Linda School District to Placentia Unified.
The possibility of creating a new Yorba Linda School District along city boundary lines was responded to by Bill Yates, a Placentia Unified School District trustee in favor of dissolving the Yorba Linda School District.
He stated that the Placentia district would “never, never, never “ let go of the Yorba Linda area already within their control and they would be fools if they did.
The Fullerton Union High School District has similarly opposed our attempts to withdraw our high school students from their jurisdiction.
We need to follow the firm stance of these two districts and declare that we, also, will “never, never, never “ give up our Yorba Linda School District--we will be fools if we do!
