Local News in Brief : Man, 18, Accused of Storing Explosives
A La Verne man involved in a fight with members of a white racist gang has been arrested for allegedly storing bomb-making materials in his home, La Verne police said.
Richard Prattella, an 18-year-old clothing salesman, was arrested early Sunday morning after police searched his home and discovered a footlocker containing several boxes of shotgun powder and shells, plastic and metal pipes with end caps, and 6 feet of detonation cord, Detective Jim Seals said. Officers also found books on making hand grenades, he said.
