Houston Oilers Coach Jerry Glanville isn’t commenting about it, Detroit Lions General Manager Russ Thomas is denying it, and Oiler owner Bud Adams is saying he will not allow it to happen.
The it is recent speculation that Glanville will be the Lions’ next coach.
The Houston Post reported Wednesday that Glanville unofficially met with Detroit management and was offered a 5-year, $3-million contract.
“If I had any interest in Jerry Glanville, I would talk first with Bud Adams and (Houston General Manager) Ladd Herzeg,” Thomas said Wednesday.
Adams, meanwhile, said he would not release Glanville from the remaining 2 years of his 5-year contract with the Oilers.
