Author Robert Ray will be on hand to sign copies of his latest mystery novel, “Dial M for Murdock,” from 4 to 8 p.m. From 7 to 9 p.m. Los Angeles Times writer Robert Scheer will sign and discuss his new book, “Thinking Tuna Fish, Talking Death,” a collection of essays and articles.

BOOK SIGNINGS: Laguna artist David Scott Meyer will sign copies of “Dreamsong,” a children’s book written by Laura Lattig and illustrated by Meyer, from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Upchurch-Brown Booksellers in Laguna Beach.

READERS THEATER: Steve Mellow’s Readers Theater will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Scribner Book Store in Crystal Court at South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa. The evening will be devoted to Anne Rice’s “vampire chronicles trilogy.”

AUTHOR TALK: Book reviewer Marilyn Wallace will present an overview of current Jewish American writers at 10 a.m. Sunday at a membership meeting at the Jewish Community Center of South Orange County, 298 Broadway, Laguna Beach. The program, part of the Jewish Book Month celebration, will include Wallace’s review of Arthur Miller’s autobiography, “Time Bends.” Cost: $3.50 for non-members.
