Arrested N.Y. Educator to Enter Drug Therapy

NEW YORK —
A public school principal who was arrested two weeks ago when allegedly trying to buy crack plans to enter a drug treatment program, his lawyer told a judge Tuesday. Matthew Barnwell, 55, did not speak during his appearance before Criminal Court Judge Thomas Donati. Barnwell is charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance.
