A Costa Mesa man who failed to make payments on his BMW was being sought by police Wednesday, after he allegedly threatened a repossessor with a .357 magnum revolver, police said.

The incident occurred at 11:06 p.m. Tuesday, when Michael Long, the driver of a tow truck, attempted to repossess a 1982 BMW from owner Albert Vega at Vega’s residence in the 2800 block of La Salle Avenue, Costa Mesa Police Lt. Dennis Cost said.

“Long showed him the documentation (to prove) that he was not stealing it,” Cost said. But Vega pulled out a revolver.
