Local News in Brief : North County : Women’s Club Donates $7,000 to Abuse Shelter
The Women’s Transitional Living Center, a battered women’s shelter in North Orange County, has received a $7,000 grant from the Women of Altrusa Club of Anaheim to help establish a children’s resource center.
The grant will help refurbish, decorate and expand the center’s existing children’s section by Jan. 1, 1989, a Living Center spokeswoman said. About 600 children, many of them battered and abused, are counseled annually at the center. Location of the center is kept confidential for security reasons.
Altrusa is a professional and business women’s service club.
