A 4-year-old Irvine girl remained in critical condition at Mission Community Hospital on Friday after suffering head injuries in a car accident on the San Diego Freeway.
The girl, Anita Rivers, was hurt in a six-car collision on Wednesday and rushed by helicopter to the hospital where she remains in the intensive care unit.
The accident occured when a car rear-ended another vehicle, setting off a chain of collisions. Anita was riding with her mother, who told officers the girl had been wearing a seat belt.
No one was arrested.
