Detectives investigating the slaying of 32 women in San Diego County over the past four years will appear on a special television show next week and ask viewers to phone in information that might help solve the crimes.

The show will be devoted to the San Diego slayings as well as similar killings in Seattle and other U. S. cities. It will be telecast in cities across the country and abroad.

In San Diego, the two-hour special, called “Manhunt Live,” will air from 8 to 10 p.m. Dec. 7 on KUSI (Channel 51).

“We’re asking for any information we can solicit from the public,” said Sgt. Liz Foster of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department and spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Homicide Task Force.

The show was put together by the Seattle-King County Chapter of Crime Stoppers. Since 1982, police in that area have been investigating the deaths or disappearances of 48 women. Some officials think the crimes are similar to those in San Diego County.
