Local News in Brief : Sylmar Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Car

A man was killed Thursday when his motorcycle slammed into a car backing out of a driveway in Sylmar, police said.
Shane Taylor, 20, of Sylmar was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4 p.m. accident in the 13900 block of Foothill Boulevard, said Sgt. Bob Farkas of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
Farkas identified the driver of the car as Leland Hebert, 61. Hebert was taken to Olive View Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released, Farkas said.
