Local News in Brief : Van Nuys Woman Dies When Car Hits Tree
A 28-year-old Van Nuys woman was killed early Friday when her car veered off an Encino street and plowed into a tree, authorities said.
Marvam Vonalman was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3 a.m. accident near Burbank Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue, said Officer James Akana of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
Vonalman was driving west on Burbank when her car jumped the curb and slammed into a tree, Akana said.
The accident is under investigation, he said.
