Local News in Brief : Huntington Beach : Literacy Volunteers Offer Tutors Session
Ruth Colvin, founder of Literacy Volunteers of America Inc., will lead a Parent/Child Read Aloud Workshop for tutors at 7 tonight in the Talbert Room of the Huntington Beach Library, 7111 Talbert Ave.
The workshop’s goal is to instruct tutors, who then can show illiterate parents how to use picture books to motivate their children to read--an effort to break the cycle of illiteracy.
