A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy in Valencia, who had left his patrol car to attend to a traffic violation, was slightly injured when another car plowed into his car, authorities said Tuesday.

The driver of the second car was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving.

Deputy Michael Didonna, 29, had pulled over a motorist for running a red light at 11:20 p.m. Monday and was standing in front of his car on the side of Valencia Boulevard, near Magic Mountain Parkway, when his car was struck from behind, Deputy Eric Smith said.

Smith said the last car, a Corvette going more than 60 m.p.h., was driven by Roselyn Hartz, 40, of Canyon Country. The impact of the crash pushed the patrol car into the deputy, injuring his neck and knees, Smith said.
