Tyson Accused of Assaulting Woman in Bar

NEW YORK — Heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, entangled in a messy divorce with actress Robin Givens, has been accused of sexually abusing a woman in a bar during the weekend.
The woman, 24, filed a complaint with police Saturday alleging Tyson grabbed and fondled her, then threatened to punch her while both were with separate groups of friends at Bentley’s Disco Lounge.
Police spokeswoman Janice Swinney said today no charges have been filed yet in the case.
Manhattan Chief of Detectives Aaron Rosenthal told reporters the woman, whose name was not released, charged that Tyson approached her about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, grabbed her arm tight and pulled her toward him.
She responded, “I have a man,” Rosenthal said, and later told police Tyson answered, “I am the man.”
The woman claimed Tyson grabbed her buttocks and breasts and later followed her to an upstairs lounge, where he pushed her and threatened to punch her, Rosenthal said.
Givens accused Tyson of abusing her before she moved out and eventually filed a $125-million suit against him for things he said about her. Tyson, who reportedly now weighs a hefty 255 pounds, last August punched ex-boxer Mitch Green in the nose on a Harlem street.
