A 23-year-old Tustin man was arrested after officers saw him fire a pellet gun at two children from an upstairs apartment, police said.
Tustin officers were investigating an unrelated case at the Pasadena Village apartments, 15482 Pasadena Ave., about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday when they saw two boys, ages 5 and 6, being fired upon from an upstairs window, Police Lt. Houston Williams said.
As the officers walked toward the apartment where the shots were fired, a man walked out, Williams said.
Officers arrested James Anthony Gorta, 23, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony child abuse. Williams said police found a high-powered pellet rifle inside Gorta’s apartment.
Both boys were struck at least once, but they did not require hospitalization.
