Pitcher Mike Smithson has accepted a salary arbitration offer from the Boston Red Sox as did Oakland pitcher Rick Honeycutt, 3-2 last season.

Smithson became the third free agent to accept arbitration, joining pitcher Bob Forsch and infielder Craig Reynolds, both of Houston.

Catcher Tim Laudner of Minnesota, who last week agreed to arbitration, agreed to a 2-year contract with the Twins.
