College Roundup : Titan Wrestlers Win 8 of 10 in Meet Against John Carroll

Cal State Fullerton’s wrestling team won 8 of 10 weight divisions in defeating John Carroll University, 33-9, Wednesday at Fullerton.

Heavyweight David Jones led the Titans (5-5) as he pinned Dan Single in 23 seconds. Jones is 18-3-1, with 4 pins, on the season.

The Titans’ Ernie Millsap ran his record to 18-4-2 as he defeated Nick Salatino, 13-5, in their 118-pound match.

In men’s swimming:

UC Irvine 148, Fresno State 57--Brian Judd and Nick Ro each won two events to lead the Anteaters (5-1) at Heritage Park. Judd won the 200-meter freestyle in 1 minute 46.85 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 4:50.82. Ro won the 200 individual medley in 2:03.91 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:15.64.

In women’s swimming:

Danielle Pajar won two events as UC Irvine split a tri-meet with Fresno State and Northern Arizona. The Anteaters (3-4) defeated Northern Arizona, 151-92, but lost to Fresno State, 103-102. Pajar, a freshman, won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.23 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.46.

In nonconference women’s basketball

Chapman 92, Sonoma State 56--Julie King and Jennifer Uecke each scored 15 points to lead host Chapman to a 92-56 victory over Sonoma. Chapman raises its record to 5-7.
