Ban Against American Beef in Europe
The U.S. trade retaliations against Europe are ridiculous and childish. It’s no secret that American beef consumption is down drastically. American doctors are asking their cardiac patients to restrict beef consumption due to its high fat content--fat content assured by administering hormones.
Our own health food stores feature overpriced and unappealingly packaged frozen beef. The selling point? No hormones.
If the European market is so important to the American beef industry, why doesn’t it withhold hormones in the feedlots of cattle destined for foreign markets? Rather than bullheadedly trying to enforce its will on the Europeans, perhaps it should sprout ears and listen to its market.
