The NFL says the Cincinnati Bengals could have used their quick-snap tactics in the AFC championship game against the Buffalo Bills, despite a pregame statement that seemed to outlaw the practice.
League spokesman Joe Browne said a misunderstanding led the Bengals to believe the quick snap was prohibited.
The Bengals will be allowed to use the quick snap in the Super Bowl against San Francisco, as long as they aren’t in the process of changing offensive players when they decide to do so, Browne said.
