Marinaro’s 3 Goals Lead Lazers to 9-5 Victory Over Kansas City

Hector Marinaro scored 3 goals and had 2 assists as the Los Angeles Lazers beat the Kansas City Comets, 9-5, in a Major Indoor Soccer League game at the Forum Tuesday night.

The Comets (6-14) opened the scoring when forward Jan Goosens made a shot from the red line.

Los Angeles scored the next 3 goals, 2 of the them by Steve Kinsey and the other by Doug Neely.

Kansas City tied the score, 3-3, with goals 34 seconds apart by Dale Mitchell and Kim Roentved.

The Lazers (10-11) broke the tie on a header by Gary Heale, the Lazers’ fourth power-play goal in 32 tries. Less than a minute later, Marinaro scored his first goal.

Kia brought the Comets within one at 29 seconds of the fourth quarter, but the Lazers got goals from Marinaro, Mark Frederickson and Cha Cha Namdar to pull away.
