Pam Postema again will work for the National League during spring training, continuing her quest to become the first female umpire in the major leagues.
A National League spokeswoman confirmed that Postema, 35, has been invited back for the second straight year. It has not been determined whether Postema will work exhibition games in Florida or Arizona.
There is virtually no chance that Postema will be hired this year as a full-time umpire in the National League. She likely will be competing for a spot in the league’s relief pool, which fills in during vacations and illnesses.
