Local News in Brief : Countywide : 2 Men Die in Separate Accidents on Freeways

Two Orange County men were killed in unrelated traffic accidents Monday night on Southland freeways, authorities said Tuesday.

Michael Eugene Liscio, 22, of Brea was killed when he suddenly swerved from an off-ramp back onto the Riverside Freeway and skidded out of control at an estimated 90 m.p.h., a California Highway Patrol spokesman said. Liscio was thrown from his truck, which rolled four times in the 9:10 p.m. accident at the Coal Canyon exit in Yorba Linda.

A half hour later, 23-year-old David Urena of Santa Ana was killed as he tried to run across the Long Beach Freeway in Paramount.

According to the Highway Patrol, Urena had lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into the center divider. When he left the vehicle and tried to cross the freeway, he was struck by a hit-and-run driver.
