Two teen-agers in a stolen car led officers on a chase from Santa Ana to Los Angeles early Thursday before the car spun out of control on Century Boulevard and the pair surrendered, authorities said.

A Santa Ana police office patrolling in the 2000 block of Southwood Street at about 2:45 a.m. saw two youths in a 1987 Hyundai that had been reported stolen from Irvine earlier in the evening, Santa Ana police spokeswoman Maureen Thomas said. The youths ignored the officer’s attempt to stop them, drove west on Warner Avenue and headed north on the San Diego Freeway, Thomas added.

After a high-speed, 30-minute chase, the car spun out of control on Century Boulevard after leaving the freeway. No one was injured, and the car was not damaged. The youths, ages 15 and 16 and both from Santa Ana, were arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, evading arrest and reckless driving.
