KADY-TV Channel 63 in Oxnard is beefing up its news organization and staff in preparation for a new hourlong regional newscast in April. The broadcast will feature live nightly coverage from Thousand Oaks, Oxnard, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria. The station also will increase three-fold its prime-time newsbreak reports, adding sports and entertainment briefs. The ambitious expansion of news and local programming also includes three hourlong documentaries on local subjects, including Latino migratory workers and crime.
