Pacific Coast League : Woodbridge Holds Off Laguna Hills
Bryant McLemore made 2 free throws with 14 seconds left to give Woodbridge High School a 78-74 victory over Laguna Hills in a Pacific Coast league basketball game Wednesday at Laguna Hills.
The victory moves Woodbridge (7-10 overall, 5-2 in league play) into a tie with Laguna Hills (13-7, 5-2) for second place. Both teams trail Trabuco Hills by 2 games.
Woodbridge led, 37-34, at halftime, then outscored the Hawks, 19-8, in the third quarter for a 56-42. Joey Cohen scored 7 of his team-high 22 points in the quarter.
Laguna Hills cut the deficit to 76-74 with less than a minute left on a jump shot by Pat Neslon, who scored 9 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter.
Laguna Beach 55, Orange 46--The Artists (8-11, 2-5) trailed going into the fourth quarter, but outscored host Orange, 26-15, in the fourth quarter. Dain Blanton scored 18 points and John Trevino 17 for Laguna Beach. Rob Salinger scored 11 points for Orange (3-14, 1-6).
Trabuco Hills 76, Costa Mesa 62--Trabuco Hills (15-5, 7-0) broke open a close game in the third quarter when guard Randy Kriech scored 12 of his 16 points.
