Controversy Over Pay Raises

It seems to me that you either pay congressmen $1 a year or $1 million a year. Either you attract strange people for reasons other than monetary (status quo), or you realistically compete with private sector salaries for the best brains in America.
I favor the latter. How to pay top bucks to Congress? In a curious coincidence the Stealth Bomber will cost $525 million each--almost exactly $1 million per member of Congress. Cancel 100 Stealths and you could pay every federal legislator $1 million a year for the next 100 years.
Let’s ground the Stealth and instead land America’s best and brightest brains at Capitol Hill.
