The Courier-Journal of Louisville, contradicting a story...
The Courier-Journal of Louisville, contradicting a story that appeared the day before in the Lexington Herald-Leader, reported Sunday that the University of Kentucky, after conducting its own investigation, was unable to determine whether assistant basketball coach Dwane Casey sent $1,000 last March to Claud Mills of Los Angeles, father of then-recruit Chris Mills of Fairfax High School.
The Courier-Journal quoted three anonymous sources as saying the article that appeared in the Herald-Leader Saturday was incorrect. It said the university would accept responsibility for the allegation.
The Casey-Mills allegation is one of 18 lodged against Kentucky’s men’s basketball program by the NCAA.
The university will respond to those charges today, Kentucky President David Roselle said Sunday after a meeting of the university’s trustees.
