Funeral Set for Village Christian’s Dyck

The boys’ basketball game scheduled for Friday between Village Christian High and Montclair Prep has been moved to 7:30 tonight at Montclair Prep because of the funeral of a Village Christian athlete who died in a car accident.

Services for senior Chris Dyck are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hollywood Presbyterian Church. Dyck was killed when his car ran off the Foothill Freeway in Tujunga and struck a parked truck early Saturday morning.

Dyck had played for the Village Christian basketball team two seasons but skipped his senior season to concentrate on baseball. He was an All-Alpha League pitcher last year and also played third base.

The baseball team has dedicated the season to Dyck, and uniforms will carry a patch in memory of No. 12, Dyck’s number.
