Ronald Lewis made two free throws with 4 seconds remaining in overtime to give Los Angeles Harbor College a 92-90 victory over Marymount in the Southern California Athletic Conference Wednesday night.

“I wouldn’t say those were the biggest free throws I ever hit,” Lewis said. “I was in a situation like that in high school twice.”

The win improved Harbor’s conference record to 8-5 and kept its hope for a postseason playoff birth alive. Marymount, trailing 81-84 with 14 seconds remaining in regulation, sent the game into overtime when Bryon Flournoy connected from 3-point range with no time on the clock. Flournoy scored 11 points before fouling out in overtime.

“We were trying to get the ball to either Ernie Woods or James Anderson, but Harbor defensed them well,” Marymount Coach Jim Masterson said. “They forced us to pass the ball back out to the top of the key to Bryon. The shot Bryon hit was obviously a big one.”

Harbor threatened to put the Mariners, whose conference record dropped to 3-10, away in the early stages of the first half. The Seahawks opened a 14-point bulge, 38-24, in the first half. Marymount mounted a rally and cut the Harbor lead to 44-42 at intermission. Woods finished the contest with 29 points.

The Seahawks again threatened to blow Marymount out early in the second period. They built a 9-point advantage with 11:03 remaining. Anderson, who led all scorers with 31 points, kept Marymount close in the second half.
