Share

A Los Angeles County clinic designed exclusively to serve people infected with the virus that can lead to acquired immune deficiency syndrome is scheduled to open next month.

The West Hollywood HIV Model Clinic, 621 N. San Vicente Blvd., will provide outpatient treatment for people who have tested positive for the human immunodeficiency virus, but who are not seriously ill, said Dr. Martin Finn, medical director of the county’s AIDS program.

Although the clinic will not begin to receive patients until March, appointments will be accepted at (213) 854-1301 on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Patients will be seen by appointment only.

The facility, which was formally dedicated last week, will provide services, including examinations, counseling, and nutritional and AIDS-related education, based on a person’s ability to pay.

The clinic’s $800,000 a year operating budget is to be provided by county and federal funds. The city of West Hollywood contributed $50,000 to remodel the building, officials said.
