Mayor Tom Bradley receives the endorsement of federal, state and local black elected officials at 1:30 p.m. today at the Ebony Showcase Theater, 4720 West Washington Blvd.

Los Angeles City Councilman Nate Holden is scheduled to discuss his offer to buy semiautomatic weapons at a taping of the CBS show, Night Watch. It will be shown on KCBS, Channel 2, at 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Monday.

Holden on Thursday filed a lawsuit saying Proposition 73, the campaign contribution limitation measure, prevents Bradley from using campaign funds collected last year.

CITY COUNCIL RACES

Councilwoman Joan Milke Flores, who represents the Watts area, on Thursday talked about housing shortages, redevelopment and unemployment in the poverty-stricken area at a seminar, “Watts 2000.”

In the San Fernando Valley’s Seventh District, City Council candidate Jules Bagneris III, president of the Lake View Terrace Home Owners Assn., held a news conference Thursday to to promote restoration procedures in the Hansen Dam recreation area.
