Air Force Confirms Death of F-16 Pilot
The U.S. Air Force confirmed Saturday that the pilot of an F-16 jet fighter plane was killed when his aircraft crashed Tuesday during military exercises north of Manila.
A spokeswoman for Clark Air Base identified the pilot as Lt. Josh Levin, 30, of Beverly Hills, Calif. Levin was assigned to the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Kunsan, South Korea.
His plane took off from Clark, 50 miles north of Manila, for air exercises but failed to rendezvous with other aircraft.
Searchers located the wreckage Fridayin a mountainous area 9 miles west of Clark.
