Actor Robert De Niro will make a rare public appearance Saturday at the premiere of his latest movie, “Jacknife,” to raise money for children with birth defects linked to the defoliant Agent Orange. The New York City premiere of the story of two Vietnam War veterans will benefit the Connecticut-based Brandie Schieb Children’s Fund of the Vietnam Veterans Agent Orange Victims Inc. Organizers hope to raise $15,000 to $20,000 from the $25-a-ticket premiere and a $125-a-ticket party afterward.
